People I agree completely with are kind of annoying me lol...MY AI rant
I notice a lot of blogs on Bearblog that get popular are about how AI sucks and look, I totally agree, it's objectively bad for our environment and society in many ways, and there's a lot to be said about it, but ultimately I'm tired of hearing people say the same few things about it, for or against. Anti-AI posts have been at the top of the posts ranks for a while now, like, longer than I thought would have been the case. And they almost always effectively say the same thing.
It's getting to be a dead horse when it absolutely shouldn't be, because there's a lot of things to muse on about it and so many fun ways to shittalk it, to share new facts on why it's hurting humanity, and yet the potential for that does seem to be wasted, so that's my little rant on that I guess.
I know, I know; "why don't you make those better posts then?" because I don't actually want to talk about AI that much on my blog lol, I'm trying to escape from the same few topical subjects people always talk about in my sphere of the internet and real life and talk about the stuff I don't think anyone is really talking about. I know I often fail to do that because this is ultimately just my glorified digital diary where I get on my high horse at the expense of being interesting or respectable, but roll with me here. I'm seeing the anti-AI stuff upvoted to the top for like months now which I just think, is this all people care about or is it just a side-effect of mostly people with tech jobs making up the majority of the userbase? I guess that's to be expected, when you work a job that's often shoving this often useless thing down your throat it's hard to not want to vent and feel glad other people understand. But I guess it's just not for me. I suppose this is my most pointless post lol.
You know, I would be interested in people talking about their personal experiences with AI being forced into their lives, or the people in their life that they see using it and how that has very likely changed them. I would love that!! Spill me some fucking tea on that! That's just my personal wishlist on this. Forgive me, I am allowed one(1) post per month where I come across as a bitter asshole and I'm cashing in my token. I love the venting aspect, I think that's great! Foster the hate in your heart with some of your best disgustingly descriptive language and your favorite metaphors. Throw what you hate to the ground with some style and substance, lest you begin to sound like an LLM trained on every piece of anti-AI media minus the excessive em-dashes. You need to make your writing feel like a violent act as you type to really achieve max catharsis, and more importantly, make something that appeals to me, a random stranger on the internet that is reading your posts.
